I want to say right away that I will write not about ‘which tracker is better’ in this publication, but about all the trackers, where it is better to download at fast speed without thinking about the personal rating at the tracker.
There is a huge variety of torrent trackers which mainly offer a user to get registered and to start participating in this project today. It’s all simple: you gain your personal rating by uploading files and so on. So how to choose a torrent tracker?

There is a huge variety of torrent trackers which mainly offer a user to get registered and to start participating in this project today. It’s all simple: you gain your personal rating by uploading files and so on. So how to choose a torrent tracker?
Times of file exchange services if haven’t totally passed yet, but will definitely do that in the nearest future. As for torrent trackers, they will gladden the users with their comfortable functionality long after that. Number of torrent web-sites increases exponentially. Every day more and more web-resources offering to download files at high speed with no restrictions appear at the expanses of the internet. Registration is simple and the upload/download process itself can be managed even by a teenager. All you need to do is to get registered and choose the best torrent client. It’s all simple.
So, let’s go straight to criteria of choosing a torrent tracker.
Closed torrent trackers.
The first candidate is tracker rutracker.org (former torrents.ru).
- Registration is free here.
- All publications are filtered by rights possessors.
- You need to have a certain rating for download.
+ An impressive number of seeders and a huge torrents archive.
It will be quite problematically to gain rating for those who is not registered at rutracker.org or has an internet tariff with a small upload speed. That’s why I recommend this tracker for those who have a high speed internet connection.
Our next candidate is megashara.com. Registration is free and has no restrictions here.
- Free registration, no restrictions.
- There is a rating here.
+ More than 300k of users.
This tracker may be used as an alternative to the first candidate. And still, if you have a low internet upload speed, it will also hard for you to get a decent rating.
Torrent trackers without registration.
Now let’s talk about torrent trackers with no rating or registration. What can that be? Basically, everything is in literal meaning just as you read it. Luckily for us, there is an idea which supports open torrent trackers and it’s very convenient as most people just want to get to the site and download the target file without racking their brains over ratings and registrations. And thanks’ God, there’s enough of such projects. Here is incomplete list of trackers where you don’t have to register.
Let’s, for example, look at the torrentino.ru tracker.
+ You may download without registering there
+ A nice torrents compilation.
+ High-speed uploads.
This tracker will be useful for those who have a small upload speed or internet connection itself and for those who don’t want to worry about rating.
Local trackers.
But what should do those who have small ‘external speed’? It’s not such a big problem today as all self-respecting internets provides join their ‘communication networks’ for creating IX networks which are intended for fast file exchange. And these networks usually have personal local torrent trackers where download/upload speed is equal to your speed in local network.
+ These trackers are very convenient as they are beyond the reach of rights possessors as they are located within the network.
+ High upload and download speed.
- The publication of new uploads isn’t so quick sometimes.
This article provides the description of trackers as examples. There is a huge variety of such trackers in the network. Each of them offers his own conditions for using the service: some of them turn down the rating points restrictions, other make free registrations and so on. In the next article I will call your attention to a detailed overview of torrent clients. I think we will start with uTorrent. But that’s all is in the next article.
